Today we satisfied our inner geeks with a visit to Google, Apple and to the Computer History Museum. We were very lucky to get a personal tour of Google by Brad (Eileen’s good friend and Google masseur) who spoilt us with a buffet lunch, entry to the on-campus shop and even gifted us with our very own Google merchandise!
That night we drove back into San Francisco to do a (very cold) night tour of Alcatraz Island. Run by the National Park Service, the audio tour of the cell block took us on a really interesting journey through the daily lives of inmates and spoke about the many controversial events that took place in the relatively short history of Alcatraz as a Federal Prison.
