After a lazy morning enjoying our Harbour View (read: Construction site for the new botanic gardens) and a late checkout at Marina Bay we walked along the Esplanade to Raffles Hotel, a famous colonial era building and home to the Singapore Sling (which we, of course, sampled).
We continued on our walk with two hot coffees (which we instantly regretted given the ambient temperature and relative humidity) to Orchard Road, Singapore’s famous shopping strip.
Then we jumped on the super efficient and (being Singapore) clean MRT (Mass Rapid Transit), to Chinatown.
An expensive and riduculously average dinner was had on the banks of the Singapore River at Boat Quay, before we walked back along the river and bay to Marina Bay Sands so we could head to the Airport.
