Due to a public transport strike (sciopero) our legs got another workout.

Today was all about the Piazza, taking us to the Spanish Steps (Piazza di Spagna) and then to the amazingly axial Piazza Del Popolo. After enjoying the beautiful Roman sunshine and putting to rest the (my) theory that you can’t get burned in European sun (due to the extra cushy ozone layer) we wandered through the fascinating back streets to Piazza Navona.

We headed back home via Palatine Hill and witnessed (other than the amazing ruins of Ancient Rome) a wedding in arguably one of the most incredible locations in the world.

On our BnB hosts’ suggestion we visited “Jenny’s” for dinner and, trying to be more Italian-like, ordered Appetizers, Primi and Secondi Piatti (First and Second Courses). Needless to say, by the time the highly recommended Rosta Mista (mixed roast) dish came out it became painfully clear that we don’t have an Italian’s constitution when it comes to eating! Jenny laughed at our feeble attempts when half of the Rosta Mista returned to the kitchen.

We celebrated Mackie and Tommy’s last night with Limoncello all round. Salute!
